Alexandra Dove Goodpaster
has joined Greg Baker Attorneys at Law PLLC in our new Abingdon, Virginia location. Dove is a 2015 graduate of the Appalachian School of Law, and received her Bachelor’s in 2010 from Virginia Tech. She is a member of the Virginia State Bar. Dove is a native of Haysi, Dickenson County, Virginia and is a graduate of Haysi High School.
During law school, Dove served as an intern for the Dickenson County Commonwealth Attorney’s Office. She was also the Executive Notes and Comments Editor for the Natural Resources Law Journal, and was a member of the Student Bar Association.
Prior to joining the firm, Dove served as law clerk for the Honorable Henry Vanover, Circuit Court Judge for Dickenson County and was a Staff Attorney at Southwest Virginia Legal Aid Society. While at Legal Aid, Dove represented low-income Virginians, primarily victims of crime under the Victims of Crime Act. Dove has experience with family law including custody, visitation, and divorce, as well as housing, consumer, public benefits, and general civil matters. Dove has been a member of local Community Coordinated Response Teams for Washington County and the City of Bristol, Smyth County, and Emory and Henry College, focusing on improving responses for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.
With the addition of Dove, the law firm is pleased to expand its coverage areas to the City of Bristol, Washington, and Smyth counties. She is proud to serve the people of Southwest Virginia. Dove represents another outstanding addition to the firm whose motto is Hometown Lawyer for Hometown People. Dove will be accepting variety of cases, including criminal defense, traffic matters, divorce and custody cases, car and other accident cases including medical malpractice and worker’s compensation. She will also be handling all you basic needs such as drafting legal documents such as separation agreements, deeds, wills, and power of attorneys.
